On May 25, 2015, Governor Brian Sandoval signed into law Assembly Bill 267 after the bill unanimously passed the legislature.  Assembly Bill 267 abolishes sentences of life without parole for offenders under the age of 18. Nevada is now the 13th state to eliminate sentences of life without parole for juvenile offenders. The law also requires Judges to take into consideration the difference between juveniles and adults when sentencing juveniles in adult court.
